Our spring has been a busy one...in April, we hosted a lefse making day, where over
400 lefse were made! Yummy!
The Lodge also hosted a booth at the Kiwanis Trade Fair in Dawson Creek, where members
visited with the general public and recruited a few new members as well. The booth was festively adorned with the Norwegian
flag, several books on language and culture, trolls, rosemaling items, and samples of lefse and lingonberry.
Our lodge also hosted a Rosemaling Course in May, with instructors, Egil and Bjorg
Lindquist, which yielded lovely results! Thank you Lindquists! Our time with you is always a lovely cultural immersion!
The June Picnic at Pouce Park was a lot of fun. Added to this year's games and
picnic, was Vern Braaten and his band, who played great music while members of an appreciative audience danced on the lawns.

Meetings have taken on a cultural focus
with every meeting sharing some aspect of Norwegian history and/or culture! This picture is from an activity where members
shared their places of origin in Norway on a map of Norway. Many were surprised to find they came from neighboring districts!
Other cultural activities have included
sharing the history (and celebration) of Syttende Mai; discussion, translation, and sharing of the Norwegian National Anthem,
Norwegian trivia, or even just sharing a little Norwegian vocabulary... Peek in on our Photo Album on the Meetings page to
see a little more.
